Seq_2

June 16, 2018. 5 tracks/improvisations made for the New Bloom Magazine fundraiser and performed live despite a regrettable interruption. The recording is live (a second time) with edits for minor concision and segueing. All done with Max MSP.

Insequel

Insequel is a work of structured improvisation and performance for computer music, and was performed on August 24th, 2017 at the Osmosis Festival in Taipei, for which the piece was conceived, composed and programmed for. It is my first piece with "beats", which might seem odd as usually that's the first concern for many digital musicians. But I did not want to do the copy/paste quantized sounds and rhythms that most softwares (and thus musicians) offer. So I built my own. Ironically, though not surprisingly, the results are a rough, even crude, mixture of intention and teething. The name itself is also part of the structure - everything that happens is stretched out over the duration of the performance. One very tight sequence (1 second) is introduced and ultimately expanded into a longer sequence (24 seconds). And thus the entire performance is essentially only one sequence.

Songs in Low Relief (Colombia y Más Allá)

This was an album made in Manizales, Colombia circa 2011 and then obsessively edited and terribly mixed by me in 2012. An end of an era kind of thing. Made me formally studio digital audio later.
